Why we use full-grain leather
The surface we keep
Full-grain leather keeps the surface the hide already had. We do not sand it smooth to hide the life of the skin. You can see the grain, and you will feel it more after a year than on the day it arrives.
Marks that belong to the piece
That surface will mark. A wallet darkens where your hand rests. A bag creases along the flap you open every morning. Those marks are not damage. They are the reason we did not cover the leather with a heavy finish.
What stays on the bench
We still choose hides that are even enough to cut a clean pair of wallets or a small bag. A scar that weakens an edge is left on the bench. What you receive should feel considered, not perfect in the way plastic is perfect.
